I haven’t watched much of it: I find the singing a bit over the top, and the “judging” idea a bit pushy. I guess there is some talent, but because the audience votes, it’s whoever “resonates” with them, rather than who has the best singing voice. And, as a result of the show, EVERYONE seems to think they can sing; well, only a few actually have a good singing voice. Ooops, one of my rant topics!
There is a Canadian idol show too. In that one, they also play instrutments like guitar. I’m not sure if they do on American idol.
I have absoluted NO singing voice. I’m like my mom: my dad once asked her if she could hum or whistle rather than sing!
It’s all about perspective…
