I’ll be a purple person today. Purple balloons on my facebook page; purple shirt and socks; releasing a purple balloon with fibromyalgia written on it. I will even try to tweet for the 2nd time in my life. (Now where did I put that password?)

Fibro folk will be busy today, participating in whatever way they can. For example, check out the discussion at the WEGO Health Fibromyalgia group. Scroll through the facebook pages, such as National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, and it’s #fibrowareness tweet request. Fibro bloggers are encouraged to submit their posts to the Bloggers Unite Fibromyalgia page. Other fibro folk will walk, talk, and spread awareness.

May 12 is also Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Awareness Day. Annie, at it’s time to get over how fragile you are, unites fibro and ME, and hopes you will tweet #Fibro and #MECFS. Blue is the ME colo(u)r. I will wear blue earrings in hono(u)r of people I know in the cyberverse who are dealing with ME.

Becoming visibler4me has been chronicling the lives of people with ME by posting a story the 12th of each month. And Dominique has a unique fundraiser planned.

So, I hope that you will be on the lookout for purple and blue folk today; look skyward for balloons; down the street for walkers; facebook,  youtube, google, bing fibro and me today. Think of the folks who strive everyday to overcome the limitations these conditions can place on the individual. To beat the pain; the fatigue; the fog; the memory issues; the many symptoms large and small that make up these chronic, life-altering health issues. To live life to the best of their abilities; to make the invisible illnesses visible; to “raise awareness 1 story @ a time.”

  8. So many blogs…so litle time…thank you for so much information.

And thank you for reminding me to mark the day with purple. It always was one of my favo(u)rite colo(u)rs. Cheerful & optimistic – I need that today!!!

    Hugs!

    • I love purple too! Good thing I brought a purple shirt (nicely clean) and bought purple socks. I have two pairs of blue earrings to chose from. Now, to remember to go buy my purple helium balloon, write fibro on it, and let it go. . . seems to me there was a time frame involved too. Oh no, LOL. Have a great May 12th!

let me know what you're thinking
