if all the world’s a global stage
then who scripts the
reality shows
writes the tramadies and comaramas?
who composes the songs of wars and famine
pain and politics
hunger for food and power?
is it the gods, fate, karma, kismet, string theory, dna, cosmic rays?
or us?
who pays the price of admission to the visualization
of our dreary lives ?
on display via
mobile devices with a million apps for nothing
social media with a million friends/likes to what end
we are now Big Brother
we are the price of admission
globalizations
has made the stage a miniature
a mockery
unforeseen by Shakespeare
unforeseen by the holy books
and spiritual people
unforeseen in the various heavens
and so well planned
in whatever hell
you believe in
Pingback: a little while: carryon tuesday | Phylor's Blog
I do get a kick of reading your version and mine (and others, of course) Well done, Phy, great impact and intensity. Nice job!!!!!
It’s amazing the different takes we do on the prompt. Sometimes free verse just comes into my head and the “proem” writes itself in just a few minutes — like this one. Other times, it’s all prose.
Some times I really have to work at either form which is why my tuesday is often thursday or friday, lol.
