i don’t have a 4 x 4, i have a 500 x 50 x 10,055

Wrote this the same day as indigo girls kinda day – like always, just takes me time to get around to finishing what I start, lol!

Still listening to the indigo girls – I’m an addict! An indigo girls kinda day was my 500th post! Hard to believe when I set out to blog in the fall of 2009, that I would eventually publish 500 entries (I’ve written and not published at least another 100+, lol!).

And, after I’d published indigo girls kinda day, wordpress told me I had my 50th follower (although my stats page says there are 70, so go figure which I guess I have now, lol) – wow, for an obscure little amorphous blog (blob at times) that’s pretty impressive – to me, anyways. I have totally gotten over my former comment, readership, and award nomination envy I’m glad to admit publically.

And, 10,055 times, someone, even spammers I imagine? have looked at my home page, currently that is my most recent post. Wow some more 5s. Now, I am superstitious, but not so much about numbers. I do like things that are multiples of 5 – I use the 5 x table to add, subtract, multiple and divide (beyond 5s); it’s all part of phylor’s math! (And, like Monk, I am partial to things that end in 10, lol)

So, I’ve decided to have a contest in hono(u)r of all these 5s! So, all you have to do is to email me: phylorsblog@ymail.com with 5 x 5 in the subject line. Or, if you want, you can visit phylorwordpress on facebook, and message me with contact info there. And, since I think I’ve figured out how to use tweeter from my laptop (no smart phone), you can even tweet me: @phylorsblog (well, at least the phylorsblog bit is correct; not sure about the @ part). Whatever media method you choose to enter, just make sure I can get back in touch with you.

When it looks like I have almost enough entries to make a truly random drawing of 5 (of course) lucky winners, I’ll let folks know by a blog post, a facebook comment and a tweet that a deadline is approaching.

No hint as to the fabulous prizes – just that 5 is involved! Good luck in the 5 x 5 contest.

And, I’m truly proud and excited about my 500th by 50th (70th?) by 10,055; never thought I’d make it this far. Thanks everyone! It’s time to party up(load)! (or is it party down(load), lol)

great blog, great contest!

I missed February’s giving to others, did some of March’s gratitude, didn’t have much fun in April, but will try and have fun in May – including entering this contest. So, get your keyboards, cameras and camcorders, markers, paint brushes ready and document some fun!

Text below comes directly from the How to Cope with Pain blog site. {laptop and several programs “acting up” despite virus checks and system diagnostics so can’t add the “fun contest” graphic that goes with this post, sorry!}

Contest: “Write Something for How to Cope with Pain

May 1st, 2012 ·

It’s contest time!!!

We’ve had giving to others in February, gratitude in March, and fun in April.  So how about a contest for May? Your contributions that you send to How to Cope with Pain are one of my favorite things to read. And readers love to hear from each other. So May will be “Write Something To Share” month.

Here are the guidelines:

1. Write something for How to Cope with Pain to share with other readers.  This can be anything related to pain that has NOT been published elsewhere (sorry, it can’t be a link to another website).  Topics can include:

  • your own pain condition
  • what you’ve learned from coping with pain
  • what your best coping techniques are
  • an inspirational quote, video or photo
  • any format – an article, poem, photo, artwork, etc

2.  Send in your submission here. Be sure to mark your submission “For the contest.”  You have 1 month – the deadline is Thursday, May 31.

3.  There will be 4 random winners, and I’ll publish all the submissions over the next few months.  You can send in as many submissions as you’d like.

4.  Winners will choose one of these prizes:

Remember, the deadline is Thursday, May 31.  Good luck, and I look forward to your submissions!
