Weekly Photo Challenge: Three

When we moved into the little house, there was a statue of the Virgin Mary in the front garden. She has been the subject of many photographs; I’ll let you decide what three picture story she is narrating.

We have a gnome….we call him gnomey….or NoMe for those who are phonetic.
He too has been the subject of many photographs. Is paint is withered now and he looked so lost in the snow up to his chin….or his nose….but he always keeps watch of our little garden patch, even if it’s winter and everything else is sleeping for the season, he keeps the ever watchful eye alert.
(I do need to give him a bath and a little update to his color, it always seems to make him happier!)

Glad you have gnomey to keep an eye on things. There are a few resident statues that the landlady doesn’t gather up for winter storage, and now they are watching the snow drops bloom as the snow recedes. But, more snow coming — perhaps a foot on Monday, so even the goose will be only peaking out.

We have a very similar statue of Mary in our yard. She also has been a subject of many pictures. I love your seasons.

Thank you. Mary does make a nice photo subject as she is as unchanging as the world around her is ever changing.

I definitely need a statue for my garden now. A plant fairy, or a Saint, to watch over things, you know.

I Love your Virgin Mary! She’s beautiful in the snow!

Mary is one of many statues that reside in the yard — our landlady has a fondness (almost obsession) with garden statuary. Most get gathered up for winter, but Mary, the lovely aging goose by the bird bath, the once bright red robin remain to watch over all.
A garden fairy or other watcher is a nice idea. I hope you find one that suits your ground.

I have a Gnome couple hugging and smiling that I like, and a funny little frog, but not quite the same as a statue, especially of a St. to watch over the garden.

I had a nice short visit to the thrift shop yesterday, but they didn’t have much for the garden yet. They just remodeled and i think they have a large storage of stuff they’re going to let out this spring, so that will be fun. Maybe I’ll find one then :)

        Happy March phylor!

I hope you find your perfect garden statue — he/she may be waiting in storage.
Happy March to you! We’re getting another storm starting tomorrow night — maybe 6 to 12 inches of snow!
Not a record yet, but getting closer with each storm. The snowdrops will have to go back into hiding until the next thaw — which isn’t going to be for a while!
Hope Spring soon finds you at your ground.
