regretfullness

I regret
never loving
you
seeing only
imperfection
when you
look
at me

I turn away
from the
mirror
and turn off
the bathroom light

Ah, have known that particularly painful experience which sometimes creeps up at the oddest moments when one least expects to find it … again! Like how you got all that emotion over in such a brief write. Well done indeed!

Thank you! Regret is a powerful emotion, and often, as you say, appears without warning.

Oh wow!! this is so powerful and can feel it so well. I would actually use this as an intro to a self-esteem workshop…just amazing!

Thank you! That’s very high praise!
We can find it easier to love others than to love ourselves.

Loving oneself and forgiving oneself…2 very high mountains to climb.

I’m in the process of learning how to forgive — myself and others. I find forgiveness a hard lesson to learn, but one I need to.

not easy but well worth the struggle to finally learn how to live freely.
