this little drama

This little drama

you and I play out

those little over-night trysts

started by conversations in subdued bars

and at glittering parties

here’s to lust without commitment

each of our special preparations

steaming showers

body outlined against

the bubbled glass

both preen to be noticed

to be desired

exotic lotions smoothed

over breasts

embraced by lace

enhanced by VS

or the

tight men’s string bikini

briefs to reek of/show off

manhood

such careful attention

to clothes soon

to be a tangle

on a stranger’s

floor

we play out

our little drama

you and I

never-ending search

for musky sheets

and whispered pleasures

this little drama of seduction

lust and distraction

because there is no love

within the little drama

that is our lives

Excellent take on this prompt phylor, you capture the essence of the soap opera so well. Love how you have ended the poem.
