“pay no attention to that man behind the curtain”*

- Rebeca Cygnus

 Rebeca Cygnus

Are you there, my faerie childe

Fey, spun off moonbeams

Translucent gem

My neck to adore, to adorn

That infinite infinitesimal mirror

Of separation

Your tatterdemalion fingernails

Peck away at mercury’s curtain

Unveil what dwells behind the mirror

Scribbled and scratched for Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Photo Challenge #78

Very interesting take. I had not heard the “tatterdemalion” expression before so I looked it up. Great written visual description of her hands. – It’s neat to read others interpretations of this prompt.

Thanks — tatterdemalion was in a recent wordle challenge. I love learning new words, and was glad to be about to use it!
I, too, love how people respond to a prompt. Each vision reflects the viewer. Some common threads emerge which is fascinating, as are the ones that see such a different story in the image.

      Thank you!
Writing often reminds me of childhood searches for shale/slate “paper” and compatible rocky stylus.

          Puff balls?
growing up out of grassy areas without a stem/cap configuration?
Never tried to draw on a mushroom. What a wonderful idea!

Did you use a “magic” marker?
