Song Lyric Sunday: 2 classics

We didn’t have to submit classics to Song Lyric Sunday, (after my Nostalgia, Emily Barker post), I checked my blog for classics.

I need to get my ass moving; my hips swaying and swinging which might make my lips smile so here’s two really “dancey, dancey” songs for Sunday.

Blues Brother’s is for moving without the lyrics.

The James Brown I Feel Good version is an absolute hoot as he is the guest star in some ‘65 television show. So, ladies and gentlemen, for your entertainment pleasure . . .

Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would, now
So good, so good, I got you
Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can’t do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love won’t do you no harm
and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can’t do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love can’t do me no harm

and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, I got you
So good, so good, I got you
So good, so good, I got you
HEY!!

and if you aren’t moving yet: a snippet from the Blues Brothers – one of the best movies and music of all time.

Started as a funny warm-up the SNL audiences, then Elwood Blues and “Joliet” Jake Blues became part of the shows, and the movie in 1980. Just finished watching for the nth number of times. I forget just how Carey Fisher is absolutely hilarious. Not that long after the Star War Series, Princess Leia she is not.

I LOVE the Blues Brothers–and particularly the updated one with John Goodman, and that darling young kid! Have you seen it? I’m thinking it’s from 2010, but I could be wrong. Music to move to–both films!

No. Haven’t seen the updated one. Have heard of it, but I’m so stuck in the Akyrod-Bulushi mode.
Glad they keep the movie music moving on the 2nd film.

Depending on whether you like John Goodman, you’d like the newer one :)

I’m up and down on Goodman — really depends on the film and the character.

I would agree with you there–though he’s talented even in roles/films I didn’t like much.
