subterfuge

Yves has set us another great task: write a piece using at least 10 of her 12 wordle words. Below is my response to Wordle 118, a short meditation on the intersect of the ancient and the modern.

image: allposters.com via Bing.com, search term man wearing antlers

You don the antlers of the dance

when the full buck moon transfuses

your ancient Celt blood

I watch, with amused face

your struggle between worlds

barkeep, dahlia breeder

evasive when residual

Methuselahian evil

makes the sensitive

presentimental

You laugh across the

bar counter,

evoking the Fourth Rule

of the brotherhood –

subterfuge
